Enduro – guided riding through the toughest trails of the Dyfi

Enduro

This is the natural home of Enduro. It's made for it.

The Dyfi's demanding landscape, steep sided forested valleys and natural slate trials are just begging to be ridden aggressively. For more experienced riders, Enduro brings a more demanding edge to riding around here - steep and technical descents picking and winding though trees, roots, rocks and drops. And there's plenty of it for a biiiiiig day in the saddle. To make the most of the terrain and riding, we'd recommend bringing a bigger travel, enduro-capable full suspension bike and run larger tougher tyres – the slatey surfaces can take their toll. The same goes for you, so we'd also suggest wearing pads, gloves and good helmet for maximum enjoyment.

If you have a bike emergency, don’t worry: we've teamed up with Steve @Wheelism just over hill to provide the best servicing and 'breakdown' back-up in the area.

The landscape of legends

The crown above Dyfi Forest, Cadair Idris was carved by glaciers in the last ice age and standing at 893m, sits towering over the landscape today. Welsh legend translates the names as the Chair of Idris, a giant who roamed the lands 1400 years ago. From a pyramid summit, you will gaze over crystal clear lakes and see the whole of the West Wales coast curve around you.

And a legendary ride

Today its rugged slopes are awash with scree with a legally ridable bridleway snaking right to the summit. Starting from the valley floor this is a big day out, but our expert local guides will help you on your way to the stunning peak. And there's more to reward you than just the view. An alpine-esque trail drops 800m, weaving through rocks and boulders before bursting into pasture land and trees. The longest descent in Mid Wales is sure to leave your arms pumping, and you wanting more.

Gravel

Fire roads. Bridlepaths. Back roads. Ride long, go fast.

The new breed of Gravel bikes and lightweight XC bikes are a scream around here. Litterly hundreds of kilometers of fast hardpacked slate trails with next to zero traffic. Ride all day in the peace and tranquility to see stunning scenery and explore jaw dropping trials just there to be ridden.

Wherever you ride around here there are views, natural and man-made marvels to stop you in your tracks, get a picture or stop for a breather, before setting off for yet more. Whatever your riding preference, we've got plenty of loops and all-day trails to give you a perfect weekend of exploring what this fantastic area has to offer - fast or slow.

This was THE most fantastic experience! Dave was absolutely great- he managed to seamlessly match a perfect mix of different trails to our (fairly novice) mountain-biking abilities, keep us fuelled and happy, and essentially make sure we had the most massive grins on our faces for the entire weekend!
